China Supplier Quality Dispute: What Evidence Do You Need?

Saying that goods are defective is not enough. The evidence must connect the agreed standard, delivered goods, inspection method, defect, notice and loss.

Prove the agreed standard

Preserve specifications, approved samples, drawings, tolerances, testing methods, packaging rules and every agreed amendment. Marketing descriptions alone may be too vague.

Show that the inspected goods are the goods supplied under the disputed order through labels, batch numbers, container data and a reliable chain of custody.

Prove notice and loss

Give written notice within applicable contractual and legal time limits. Record sampling method, inspection conditions, photos, video and independent reports where proportionate.

Separate repair, replacement, disposal, customer claim, freight and lost-profit allegations. Each category needs causation and supporting records.
